"These people are truly struggling with life, but there are those who pull themselves up by their bootstraps. The Community Foundation has been there for us and for them and that’s made all the difference."

Becky Whelchel, Episcopal Metropolitan Ministry

Because we serve a community of individuals with specific interests and goals, the Community Foundation has created several avenues for your charitable giving.

We manage over 300 funds, and provide scholarships and grants that impact almost every aspect of our community. We want to help you choose the right place for your gift.

We offer resources and experience to members of the Chattanooga community that will help you put your money to work where it will have the greatest impact. We can also help you avoid the financial expense and mental stress associated with creating and maintaining your own foundation.

We created the Fund for Chattanooga so that you can also give to the greater good of the general community. Our board uses these funds to directly address the most pressing needs in the Chattanooga area.  The Fund for Chattanooga stands at over $24 million and supplies grants to local organizations every year.

We also oversee restricted funds, created by individuals for different types of charitable outreach.  Each fund is as unique as its creator and built by a unique base of community members.
